Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What type of bikes do you use?

A: Our normal bikes are modern, 7 speed bicycles with handlebar brakes. Our electric bikes are peddle assisted bikes, meaning when you peddle the electric motor starts and assists you with the pedalling and significantly reducing the amount of energy it takes for you to peddle.

All our bikes are in excellent condition and are serviced on a very regular basis.

Q: Do I need to know how to ride a bike?

A: Yes, you do already need to know how to ride a bike. If you are not an experienced biker, please visit the bike rental and our workers will explain you everything and you can try one of the bikes.

Q: Are the tours only in English ?

A: All our tours are guided by English speaking guides. We can provide excellent foreign language guides, and if you book at least a week in advance there is a chance that we can arrange a private tour for you in a foreign language. Please contact our office for details. Please note that extra costs will apply.

Q: Do I have to make a reservation?

A: Tours are booked by reservation only. Book your tour in advance to make sure you don’t miss out. You can easily book your tour online or contact our office for an offline booking.

Q: Do you offer private tours?

A: We do offer private tours. Just check our calendar for time slots with private tour availability. After you choose your favorite tour, you'll be given the opportunity to choose a private tour. Private tours do require at least 2 passengers. For large groups (groups of 6 persons or more) we offer the option of booking a private group tour. Please contact our office for details.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: Tours cancelled at least 72 hours in advance will receive a 100% refund. In some cases (depending on the chosen payment method) a small amount may be withheld (max. 5% of your payment) due to costs charged by our payment provider. In order to accommodate our passengers best, we do reserve a bike FOR YOU, and we will not be able to issue a refund if cancelled within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time. To cancel a booking please contact our office through email or phone.

Q: What is the minimum age to join the tours?

A: The minimum age to join our tour on a bike is 10. Younger children can ride in a child seat mounted on the handlebars or on the cargo rack of the bike.

Q: What if I miss my tour or I’m late to arrive?

A: We really hope that doesn’t happen. Please do your very best to be early to your tour. Public transportation can’t always be counted on either so we suggest giving plenty of time for getting to your meeting point. We have no way of holding up a tour for anyone running late or not showing. We are sorry, but no refunds for missing your tour. If it looks like your are going to be late for your tour please give us a call and we’ll see what we can do but no promises.

Q: Do we go inside museums?

A: We will show you a lot of Amsterdam, and it’s super easy when you ride through it on a bicycle. Our tours don’t stay put for very long before they are on the move again, so we don’t have much time for going inside museums.

Q: Can I take pictures on the tour?

A: Of course, we hope you take many pictures on your tour. We make plenty of stops along the tour for taking pictures. Please do not take any pictures while in motion on the bike.

Q: Can we just rent your bikes?

A: Yes, you can also just rent your bike, contact us for bike rental without the tour. We also offer a discount for renting the bike you used on the tour until the end of the same day (the bike has to be back at the meetingpoint at 18:00 at the latest) or for an extended period until 18:00 the next day. For longer rentals please contact our office.

Q: What should I wear?

A: It is highly recommended that you wear wind resistant clothing for riding, especially on cool or damp days. On a colder day we suggest gloves as well. Just dress comfortably and ready for an amazing outdoor experience! (Gloves and poncho's can be purchased at the meetingpoint).

Q: What should I bring to the meeting point?

A: You MUST bring valid photo ID with a date of birth, such as a passport or driver's license, for every person in your group as we use that to identify the person renting the bike.

Q: What should I NOT bring to the meeting point?

A: You can leave any personal belongings at the meeting point at your own risk. We cannot take responsibility for your items when left at our location. For safety reasons, large items like backpacks and purses can’t be taken on the bike, so it is very important that you either not bring them or leave them at our office.
